Who is going where? My Mom told me to check out Pepperdine, however I'm leaning towards going to a BYU camp with my pals. In the U.S., is there a summer tennis camp anybody recommends, preferably on the West Coast?
Just list where you are going and when, I'm doing some research to find out where I should go. :)

Well few questions. Are you looking to play at an American college? What is your skill level? What are you looking for in a camp?

1) Yes, American would be convenient.
2) Skill Level - 3.5 - 4.0. I'm not looking for something very serious, I'm just looking for a camp that will improve my overall game. I'm looking for camps that are tennis oriented, rather than a junior camp that focuses on fun over fundamentals. I'm looking for a camp where it's their job to improve my game, as I want to come into next year's season a better player.
I'm not trying to sound self centered or egotistical, I'm just honestly looking for a straight forward tennis camp that will help me improve.

You don't sound egotistical, don't worry. Well a 3.5-4.0 would only really get you playing d3, maybe d2, so I would suggest going to those college camps that you want to play at (be reasonable), as it gets the college coaches to notice you while you're on the court, and they know you have some interest in their program. If you don't want to do that I'd go with your friends, any big time school tennis camp will focus a lot on tennis, with a friendly atmosphere.

Thanks Matt. I understand what you're saying about the college camps, and I feel that's the best choice. Are you planning on/in the past have you gone to a summer tennis camp?

I have already decided not to play tennis in college (the one I'm going to, Ole Miss, is one of the top programs in the nation) so I will party it up.
In the past I have attended their camp, Sewanee University's camp, and Milsaps camp. I will say that the smaller schools' programs are not as good as they could be, while the bigger programs as I mentioned are better for your game, but will not get you noticed by the college of your choice.

It looks like I'll be attending a Nike camp this summer in Spokane, WA at Gonzaga's campus. The men's and women's head coaches are running the camp, so I'll be able to get some opinions/help on what I can do for college tennis. Best of all, it's quite cheap, only $370 or so a week for the 7-8 hour day camp.

My son just finished up the BYU tennis camp and I have to say, this camp was well worth it.
