Anyone tried a hybrid with Cyberflash mains and Forten Sweet crosses?

Good?
Bad?
Or indifferent?

I have tried Big Ace with Forten Sweet before. I really like Sweet, it is one of my favorite synthetic guts. Plays soft, feels soft, pretty powerful. Not as durable as PSGD though.

Agreed. Sweet is a great hybrid string.

Using Sweet 17 as a cross with CF 17 really softens up the string bed and I haven't had any problems with early breakage. I also think that it's better than that cheaper Gosen sheep micro.

Hmmm. But I'm not really into soft string beds. I'm addicted to crispness.

With a Sweet and SPPP hybrid, things were way too soft, in fact mushy IMO.

But I'll give it a shot.

In that case... cross it with PSGD or Gosen Micro 17 or 18.

I tried hybrids of CF with Gosen Micro, and CF with PSGD.
CF and Gosen was kind of boardy. The CF with PSGD was pretty food--fairly crisp.

So far my fave has been CF and Sensation--just right once it breaks in.

So you tried both gosen and forten. Which one would you play softer? and more control?

I've had it in for a couple of weeks now, and it is suprisingly good. I think the key is not stringing at too high a tension. (Not dead or boardy, and not too soft or spongey.)

I went with CF at 58 and the FS at 61, so an average of 59.5. This feels really quite nice with surprising feel on volleys at the net.

You just never know till you try it.

Forten sweet makes a great cross string.

And Topspin is a great main string. I would say a nice stringbed combination.

If you're looking for a crisper SG in the crosses... try Gosen Micro 17 or 18. You'll definitely feel the difference.

I should have added in my earlier post... if going with the Gosen, don't go over 55.
