Is the Tennis Channel Open history? http://www.tennisweek.com/news/fullstory.sps?inewsid=548538

Sam Querry will forever have a place in history... "Who won the last Tennis Channel Open?" You could see it coming based upon the crowds shown on the TV. This tournament will not be the last small fish to get fried, more are coming.

Anything associated with TTC is a disaster. TTC is a disgrace to the sport.

I can't say that I watched before it before this year, though of course I'd read of results there, but it seemed a really good venue with lots of interaction between players and fans, as well as a lot of other racquet sports going on at the time, Wii tennis matches, etc. Really seemed a lot of fun, but I guess they would take it were they can get more money or just get rid of it all together. Funny that the ATP "bought" it though..if I understand the article correctly.

Their ratings are probably low.

Good. They could hardly get butts in the seats during the finals. In the early rounds the stands looked like that of a WNBA game.

TTC Open was a good idea and they have a great tennis facility out there in Vegas..... but It looked like it was held at the wrong time of year - looked so cold out there for the spectators.

You know it's not that big a deal when Sam Queer wins the whole thing.

Yep, I agree. Horrible planning to have it at that time of the year, no matter what else they did to promote it.

I'd like to see it come back to Scottsdale. There are a lot of tennis fans in that part of Arizona that were upset that it left to Vegas.

Bye-Bye TTC Open:

Since they are selling it to the ATP, I would not expect this tournament to come back to the U.S. I'm betting that there's a 99.9999% chance that this tournament will be set up over seas.

There are essentially 3 tours going on then, European hard courts, U.S. Hardcourts, and South American clay.
I guess they could give the South American clay court season one more tournament. There would be an empty slot in the US hardcourt season - only Dubai as part of the european spring tour would be on hardcourts that week.
Maybe they could move Delray Beach to that slot.
