View Full Version : Needed: backboard/wall volley exercises

I'm out with an injury which prevents me from running for a little while. I'd love to be able to work on my volleys during my downtime.

I know that some people practice volleys against a backboard. How do you do it (how far away do you stand, and what kind of volley specifically do you hit) and what kind of drills do you like to do?

i sometimes do it in my garage as im a pretty bad volleyer..it doesnt matter where you stand really just find out what suits you, i normally stand about 3 meters away as the ball comes back fairly quickly. When you are doing backhand volleys, try to just hit 1 then stop as the wall is to fast for the proper technique i find.

as for drills i just hit for a while but if you look up on youtube or type in volley drills or something on google im sure you will find something.
