junior summer camps

I am considering going to an overnight tennis camp for 2 weeks in Philadelphia -- Julian Krinsky Tennis camp. I play on my high school JV team and looking to improve to compete for our varsity team or at least move up to #1 JV singles.
Does anyone know anything about the Kinsky tennis camp?

Alternatively, I might choose Evert tennis camp in Florida (concerned about the humidity and rain in August). Not sure whether someone like me who is not ranked but just looking to improve for their high school team will get the attention needed. Also, I want to be with other high schoolers with similar goals as me.

I went to a Nike Tennis Camp in Oregon, and I had a blast. Plus you get a free pair of shoes from them. It's fun and I thought that I improved a lot.

what shoes did you get from the nike camp?

It's different every year. This summer, the shoes that are offered are the Ace '08. Kids will get the Nike Air Max Breathe Cage II. It depends on your shoe size.

Do you know if Weil attracts high school team players (JV and Varsity) during late July/early August, and if so, do the instructors pay attention to JV level players or only top Varsity and ranked players. I have heard some top camps only give quality attention to the ranked players.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like Weil too much. Maybe it's because I only went for a week and that week was the last week of the summer, but when I was there, they didn't pay attention to me at all. They basically fed some balls to us, scored us on our technique and stuff. The best people were in some elite group. The others, like me, were stuck playing King of the Court all week. So, I dunno. That's probably because I suck. Maybe you don't, so maybe you'll have a good experience.

Personally, I could have benefited more with using that money for private lessons, maybe some clinics, working out on my own, and playing matches with friends.

Weil definitely pays more attention to the better players. The top dozen players usually train at a different site and get far more coaching and match-specific training. The remaining 40 to 50 (or more) players basically drill and play games.

I would agree with the previous poster who indicated your parents money would be better spent on decent private lessons, etc.

Thanks for the Weil feedback. I have crossed it off my list. Still interested in getting feedback on my original question about Julian Krinsky Tennis Camp in Philadelphia, and Evert Tennis Academy. I do the private lessons and drills, but really want to do a camp at the end of summer for 2 weeks (right before my HS try-outs) to perhaps get an extra "kick" to move from JV to VARSITY.

I've narrowed down to Krinsky, Evert, and possibly Van der Meer in Hilton Head, but don't know anyone who has gone to any of them.
