Anyone play REAL bad in the sun but then play REAL good when theres none?
It seems like i have sun problems (or i didnt wear my hat)
But my mind gets kinda confused when im playing in the sun, i make SO MUCH MISTAKES.
Or, its some kinda traveling phobia. I beat people in home courts while i lost to them in THEIR home courts.
(true scores, but made up names)
BEAT: 11-9 Bobby, 10-7 Billy
The courts were our home courts, and there was no sun
LOST: 10-1 Bobby, 10-1 Billy...really both 10-1
The courts were THEIR home courts, and there WAS sun

Anyone else feel the confusion when playing outside in the sun? may be u do if you've been playing inside for like a year straight?

Thank

P.S. Its high-school tennis, the scores are up to 10 games

indoor tennis spoils me. I hate having to serve in the sun and get blinded

I have part of the same problem. I don't play as well and I get tired quickly, obviously. When it's pretty cloudy or at night, I usually play better when I have to warm myself up.

Hahh, when I read the threadtitle, it reminded me of a time I had some skin allergy/rash kind of thing goin' on my arms and legs. I had to stay out of the sun for a few days, so I played at night, but sweating through the rash actually hurt a little bit. And going to work in the morning, I'd go out of my way to walk in the shade.

Well, wheather it's bright, hot, cold, windy or indoors, I'm always really happy and appreciative to be on a court playing tennis.

Probably just best to accept the conditions and do your best to handle them better than your opponent.

Perhaps you need a little time adjusting.

I play fine before the sun rises, or after its well over the trees (no shadows on court).

But occa in that in between period when the light is filtering thru trees and half the court is sunny, --- the ball catches the sun on rising (ball) then suddenly loses it near the ground -- that's tricky!!!

Yea, lol.
And i also agree with the spoiling.
I realized that when i play in the sun my reaction turns into a very slow one. May be because the sun is so bright that i dont see the ball until its on top of the net?

I've the same problem. Hate playing in the sun. Made the mistake of wearing a black tshirt 2 weeks ago and felt like fainting on the court after 20 minutes. I got through 3 hours, but only cuz the sun was setting
