Be aggressive and go out there and leave it on the court.

x2, and work on your form and game as well.

Be more aggressive, you've got nothing to lose at this point.

If you're playing too cautiously, you're not going for your shots. Go for your shots. Come to the net if you hit a deep shot or if your opponent hits a short shot

Practice, practice, practice.

And I don't mean play. I mean to find someone to run drills with and things like that. And it's really important to get started on the right foot by having a good serve, so get a hopper of balls and hit lots and lots of serves.

Take it from me. I'm 4.0 and didn't work on my serve enough when I wasn't as good. And now it's holding me back. Coincidentally, I'm about to go practice my toss.

You just answered your own question right there. Now all you have to do is practice. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. If you do then your game and your technique will suffur.

Best of luck.

in singles, play very pushing. camp 2 metres behind the baseline and lob the ball back every time. you will win. some more.

...Are you kidding? Thats not a way to improve at all. Sadly, if hes athletic enough, he will enter the singles line up because its jv, but it won't last him long.

if you want to win... Push. if you want to look good and not win... go ahead and smack the ball as hard as you want. Consistency > Power at his level.

Consistency is important at his level but the right consistency. It's no good going out and just lobbing the ball over the net and having it land 3-4 feet inside the baseline. You have to have a mixture of good consistency and aggresiveness. Try the following things, they may or may not help.

1) Be agressive on your second serves but make sure you keep them in.

2) Make your opponent play on his serves always, even if it's just blocking the ball back, make him play.

3) If your opponent has you deep and out of the court return the ball deep with as much topspin as you can put on it so as to force him back. He may then hit a short ball off of it.

4) Take advantage of short balls. My rule is that if I'm given a short ball and I don't either:

a) Hit a winner and put it away
b) Hit a good approach and finish the volley/smash

then I shouldn't be playing tennis. This all depends what level you play at though and the style of game you play.

Hope my tips help. Good luck.

Dont be depressed. I feel u on the "cautious" part, or still trying to find out my problems.
When i play my practice partner in tie breaks, im not cautious.
We play a set, i might get cautious, which MESSES it all up

ur cautious cuz ur playing ppl worser then u?
and u lost cuz u were cautious?
haha, its hell

anyways, i think you get the point. we've lost against every school [we don't even have enough people to form a JV team] but at least we had fun losing.

today was succesful and extremely frustrating at the same time. i asked to play singlesl, but my stubborn coach set me up for # 1 doubles. i won two and lost one, partially becayse of my coach. she played my partner in 6 matches, and the other one were in #1 singles. so thats why we lost our third doulbes.

honestly that is not so bad. take my cases. i been playing for about 3 years and entered near 20 tournament and yet to win a match. honestly olnly won a few games in all. Mostly due to my weight (near 300 pounds) and alos poor health (heart condition). I have beat my sister pretty regular though in practice matches.

dont blame coach or w/e
if they put yopu in doubles take control and show them wsup.

if youre having trouble winning practice practice practice!
play better people and ask for advice. stop crying about losing and do something about it.

just be patient,

my freshman year i won a total of 2

my sophomore year a total of like 4

and this year, lost like 3 and advanced to the final of our district tourny and have regionals in a week.
