Default/walkover before a match start do not count as a win or loss.

So if a player win a round then default the next round for 10 tournaments, does it count as a 10-match win streak?

I emailed the ATP about this last year because I was confused as to why they weren't acknowledging Borg's 49 match win streak when Federer was getting close to it. Borg had some walkovers during that stretch.

Their response:

"A WO does not count as a loss in a Win-Loss record, but does break a
players winning streak."

then later on in the year I read this when Nadal felt ill in Rome:

ROME (AP) Rafael Nadal went to a hospital for a checkup following a dizzy spell Thursday, although he was not planning to withdraw from the Rome Masters.
Nadal will attempt to extend his 73-match clay-court winning streak later Thursday against Mikhail Youzhny.

"Everything is OK. It was just a routine checkup. He's playing tonight," Nadal's spokesman Benito Barbadillo said. "It was the same as yesterday. He was just feeling a little dizzy, that's it."

Nadal said he felt dizzy after his second-round win over Daniele Bracciali on Wednesday.

Even if he does withdraw, Nadal's streak will remain in intact.

"A withdrawal is not considered a loss or a win," ATP spokesman Nicola Arzani said.
