Looks like Higueras have some impact on Federer, coaching wise. He is using the shot more and more and it was really working for him with Monfils.

Good. I've been saying he needed to start hitting that thing for the last 2 years. He's anti-dropshot or something.

Fed has said before the drop shot is not natural to him which is why we dont see him playing many of them

Federer's forehand slice ie looking great. And yes the dropshop looks like it has improved.

I've definitely noticed a greater improvement and usage of the shot, too. I think it would just beneficial for him to mix things up and attack a bit more.

I always thought Federer was great when he did it. Rarely puts in low in the net etc. However, Federer was asked once what his least favourite shot was, and he said that it was a dropshot. He things it for *****'s or something I guess;)

It would be a nice way to mix things up on the bh side, rather then just standing there and letting Nadal beat him up.

his dropshot is not good, he said before that he always considered that a shot he was not comfortable with, and was jealous of those who did it well.

When Fed does the drop-shot, he does it well. He has all the shots. He just said before he didn't *like* using it because it felt like fooling around.
