I've read on these boards that many juniors, some of whom are highly ranked, can get by due to their scrambling ability and moonballing even without having a weapon or even decent strokes. But once you move up guys will begin to take advantage of that and after a certain point, if you're hitting without any kind of decent pace or control of the ball it's more smoke and mirrors and guys are going to start taking advantage of you. So as a junior I think...it's probably best to develop your strokes, develop your game, and develop a taste for competition, and let the winning (or losing) take care of itself. And if you're losing a lot, you need match experience against good players. I haven't yet read a post on how young players deal with that though, how do they get match experience if they keep losing early in tournaments?

sorry for the duplicate thread, this is the correct one with the URL links that work. if the moderator can take down the other thread, that'd be great :)
