View Full Version : Wilson hammer 7.5? Have you ever heard about it?

Guys I am using old wilson hammer 7.5. I tried a lot of new racquets, still demoing but nothing beats its performance. I donīt have official specs but it has the weight about 285-290 gr unstrung, slightly head heavy, 95 inch headsize, standard length, rectangular geometry. Composition is 70% graphite/30% fiberglass. Beam width is just 20 mm!!! I never hit with other racquet with so much power and control! I am not sure if this racquet was available in US, actually I bought it from my friend in Czech Republic. It has to be at least 8 years old, probably more. Actually it is very simillar to wilson hammer 8.2, but 8.2 is not as crisp and powerful(21 mm beam, slightly lighter). Unfortunately I have just 2 pieces of hammer 7.5, just few fo real competition play. Thatīs why I am looking for something new. Racquets that have me interested are Ktour and Ksix-one team. Both have great control a wilson heritage which I like but they lack some speed(juice) from the stringbed. I tried also Becker 11 mid-it was too flexy, control was not good for midsize especially for hitting flat. Juice was a tad higher than on wilsons.

Guys, donīt you have any piece of wilson hammer 7.5? I would buy it. Thanks.

I remember a Wilson Pro Staff 7.5si that was made of fiberglass and graphite. It was extremely flexible and low powered. The Hammer version was a 7.0 if I remember correctly and was also very flexible but it was head heavy instead of head light like the Pro Staff.

Yes I can remember it also. Itīs true that with graphite/fiberglass composition the ball is not as heavy but is pretty fast

Yes, that's right...it was a 7.4. It was a decent racket too if you like the head heavy balance.

7.4 is actually different racquet, much lighter than 7.5.
