Residue/glue from replacement grip?

Hi,

Has anyone got any tips about how to remove the sticky residue that remains after you remove a replacement grip? Just trying to replace mine and found that most of the glue has been left on the pallets. Surely this will make the grip bigger if I don't remove it?

Also, anyone got any good tips for preventing this in future? Would wrapping the handle in sellotape/masking tape before applying the grip help prevent the glue sticking?

Any help would be appreciated.

i succesfully removed this stuff with water and also rubbing alcohol at one point
i also left the glue on there when it was not too bad and wrapped the handle with black electrical tape, it made it all uniform and since tape is not tick, it keft the vavels well formed, i dont plan on removing this tape ever so it worked good on one of my spare racquets

Denatured alcohol generally works. If the glue proves particularly tough, try some Goof-Off.
