I'm just curious about the weighting on the RDS 002 Tour. I know Yonex uses the older weighting system of UL and SL, but I've never really been clear on how that works. On the Yonex website it states UL = 310g and SL = 330g. Does that gradually go up based on the grip size? How much does the size 3 grip weigh?

mine is 1/2 grip and weighs 12.2 oz. I think 3/8 is the same.

My 4 1/4 was exactly 310 g

I wish it were possible to get the UL version in a 3/8 grip here. They're totally available in Japan.

Just get the 1/4 and build it up. The UL is a real sweet racquet.

Mine was 4 3/8 and I added a heat-shrink sleeve. with overgrip, strings and dampner it was 367g (heat shrink sleeve was about 15g)

Too much....so I smashed it.

Sadly, this is a short and true story.

I have 2 SL's? (4 1/2") and they both weigh 12.4 oz with an overgrip.

Mine came in at 12.4 oz (351.5 grams) with 3/8 (L3) grip size.

Well, I guess that answers my question. Seems a bit heavy for me as I usually prefer about 12 oz including dampener and overgrip. And building up a size 2 grip is out too because it rounds off the grip too much and puts too much weight in the handle. Seems I can never have my cake and eat it too. I'm sticking with the RDX Mid for the time being.

I am on the opposite - I have a hard time playing sub 12oz racquet. I end up leading it up to 12.2 to 12.5 oz, otherwise, it felt too light or under power when I drive through the ball.

The 002 is stock - strung with hybrid and normal grip (no overgrip). And another thing is the swingweight -002 is heavier compared to RDXmid

I guess everybody has their Goldilocks Zone. Around 12 oz is just right for me.

My 002 Tour UL weighs about 11.8 with overgrip and dampener and is 7 pts HL. Dont know the swing weight but feels easier to swing than my unleaded RDX500MP.
