I'll be the first to admit that I am completely out of my league when it comes to tennis shoes. I have no idea what's important, what's trivial, etc. In fact, despite having played for 6 years now, I have not yet owned a pair of tennis shoes.

That being said, I plan on getting an actual pair of tennis shoes for the first time. My budget is 50 bucks. Can anybody answer my biggest question: when you're looking to buy a tennis shoe, what are you looking for? What defines a good shoe (apart from looks)?

i think comfort is a big factor b/c you dont want to play in shoes that dont feel very good

traction and durability is important too, for example would you rather have lighter shoes that do not last as long or heavier shoes that last longer? those are just some things i would recommend thinking about
