Same here, must have been 13 or something. It was this really nice Prince racquet I used to love, I think it was called the typhoon or something weather related.

R.I.P. Racquet, I remember you fondly.

There's a video on youtube (though I don't have the link) of Roddick doing the same thing. It gives you some idea of how loosely pros are gripping the racquet while serving - even guys like Roddick who to a casual observer seems to have a death grip on the racquet.

i do that a lot, so i built up the butt of my racquet a little..

i normally hold my racquet when i serve with just my index finger and thumb.

i once had a racquet fly over the net while serving. my serve also went in. me and my opponent wasn't sure of the rules regarding flying racquets so we just replayed the point.

I saw this happen on another court the other day, and had to ask my buddy to give me 5 minutes to recover, as I was laughing too hard to play. Happened behind my buddy who was serving. It's the only time I've seen it, and if you've never seen it happen, it's pretty funny. Caught me completely off guard.

ha, thats how i got my current racquet, no joke, slammed it just like in the video, my racquet at the time was a green pro kennex (not sure what kind, 12 years ago), a couple of months old, when i picked it up, it had 2 or 3 complete cracks, racquet was toast, tought about it for a day and i wrote the company to see what they would say, i sent them my racquet as well, they sent me the current purple racquet i have now Pro Kennex Innovator :-) and i guess to show the love, ive been playing with that pro kennex racquet for the past 15 years

what i wanna know, is why are people clapping after it happens, dont get that, also, whats that thing that flyes past the other way when the player goes to pick up the racquet, its at 5 seconds into the video, is that the ball? or a piece of the frame?
