No see this: "Rafael Nadal: The Masters Series event in Hamburg is the only tournament on clay that I could not to win so far. I will be back in 2008 to finally catch up on that."

The reason he skips it is probably because he is going to be smarter about his scheduling this year.

if he does skip, what does it mean for his points? will he lose points?

Yep. He got to the Finals last year at Hamburg so all those points will be erased. :( Thanks a lot for the scheduling.

is hamburg being held when the semi/finals are still going on in rome?

There is a slight possibility that Nadal might be scared of playing in Hamburg because of what happened last year.

I don't think Rafa is scared of much on clay, judging by his transcripts he plans to play them all.

Perhaps Hamburg's court is faster and Nadal is afraid of possibly losing there again?

i dont think so

if he played i think he would be the heavy favorite

i doubt he would lose

hes just unstoppable rite now on the clay

No, he's said nothing to indicate that he's not playing.

It all hinges on whether Rafa wins Rome and how he feels after Rome.

I hope he skips it. The French is MUCH more important.

Of course. He got to the finals last year so he would lose those points. Not sure how many points he got from it.

he will play Hamburg if he feels he can do it! since there is no more best of 5 matches in the masters he will almost definitely play Hamburg! It's a great tournament;)

You mean he has a week to let those blisters heal before he even steps on a court.
