Sorry, I can't find the original thread where this was posted, but I wanted to thank whoever posted the following link:

It really helped me.

I've always had a reasonably strong serve, but have been tinkering with it over the past 12 months, with the result that I've reduced the number of aces and cheap points.

It would seem that I was trying to use a pinpont stance when it seemingly doesn't suit my action. By thinking in terms of the Sampras rotation described in the article, rather than elements based on Roddick's serve, I've re-discovered a heavier ball and am getting the easy points again!

Of course there are plenty of people who can generate heaps of power by using both legs in the pinpoint stance; but it seems my power was coming from a slightly differently sequenced kinetic chain and trying to combine elements of the two was not constructive.
