What do you guys think of the drop shot? I'm thinking of trying to work into my game every once in a while.
I've heard federer doesn't use it because it ruins the beautiful rythum of a point, anybody else thinks thats ridiculous as long as it wins you the point?

"Just win, baby"- Al Davis
Whatever works, but here's a piece of advice: never use a dropshot on a really important point.

I saw him hit three within about a 15 minute period during his match yesterday against Canas, one of them off a short forehand, shoulder high taken on the rise, haha.
I love throwing in a drop shot here and there in my match play, but very rarely as part of an overall strategy. More so almost just to have fun and mix it up. When hit well it's a really pretty shot and I love executing one well, in my opinion it should be used sparingly though unless you're playing somebody who's just terribly slow and you have the touch to warrant trying it in the first place.
The exception to this is a clay court player, which is why Roger was using it yesterday, playing on red clay.

Against someone who is too comfortable camping 5 feet behind the baseline, but may feel uncomfortable right at the baseline, drop early and often to mess with his mind.
