Hello! I will be playing tournaments again soon and I was just wondering how many of you "play up" a age division and if so is it a good idea?

My boy is 12 playing in the mens open this weekend. I wonder if i'll have to play him again like last time?

Is this the tourny in SB? I think one of my friends is playing in it.
Neither of you will probably play her though. She's in the Womens Open draw.

I've read some of your posts, and you seem to be a proud, and reasonable individual. I will say a prayer for you, because If he runs into a hormonal 16 year old my suggestion I would stay away from the net.

No doubt well put. I hope he doesn't get pegged.

Yes its the John Heinzman tourney in SB. My wife is playing the Womens Open draw, maybe they'll play each other. Which one is she?

Thanks, i do consider my self both proud and reasonable. I would'nt worry to much for my boy at the net against anyone. He's got quick hands and is used to me blasting balls at his belly button.

See I knew you were reasonable. Most kids spend a lot of time hitting with other kids and don't get blasted often enough to reduce their reaction times. Therefore a reaction volley becomes a peg in the nose. Good luck.

I would think he is using a one hander, kind of hard to work on the drop back and pass with two hands.:???:

Well, I am 15 and I am looking to play satellites and was wondering if playing boys 18's will be too hard or no?

Well...how good are you?? Like if you attended a high school with a tennis program, how did you do - varsity, reserve? Are you ranked in your state? How good do you think you are? How well do you play against 5.0+'s?

The #1 seed. Say hello to her for me if you see her.

What section are you in...? That statement is completely inaccurate. I could put you up against some 14 year olds I know that can hit with plenty pace.

Are 18's a completely different game from 16's? And are you playing satellites or opens?

But are 18s completely different from 16s in Opens?

How about satellites? Also, do you gain ranking points towards boys 18s or boys 16s if you play boys 18s?
