hi, i recently leaded up my Ps 6.0 95 up 12 grams in the head. i do not have a balance, so i do not know the swingweight or whatever. i equally distributed the lead tape at the 2, 4, 8, and 10 positions. i used to only put all 12 grams at the 2 and 10 positions, but a pro told me to put it also at 4 and 8, so that it what i did.

my shots are feeling better than ever. some balls go long, but thats fine, i strung my racquet at 56, so i just need to increase that tension. but i do have wrist pain now that i never had before. now, on my one handed backhand, i am able to plow through with excellent pace and control, but i am paying for this great performance increase with wrist pain. it is towards the lower part of my arm, on the side of my pinky. my wrist hurts ALOT when i move it towards my pinky. i use an eastern/semi-western (somewhere in between) fh grip and have a varying contact point, depending on the time i get to prepare. when playing, my wrist started to hurt on my forehands (when i laid back my wrist, it hurts alot and on the followthru, during pronation). my backhands started to hurt also because of the extra weight and stress put on my wrist because of the weight of the racquet now. my shots feel comfortable as ever, but my wrist is paying the price.

so i was going to experiment keeping only 6 grams at 2 and 10 and taking off the rest. i use babolat lead tape and i cut the strips in half to fit the 20mm beam width of my racquet.

btw, my wrist keeps on popping ALOT now. my wrist never used to pop before, but they are popping like crazy now. please help me solve this.

superficially? Get a softer racquet and/or strings (like gut or multi fill.)
technique wise? Don't hold the racquet so tight, don't swing to fast, meet at sweet spot, and don't use so much wrist, only on the follow through

the PS 6.0 (95 or 85) are some of the softest racquets compared to the more recent ncodes and liquidmetals ect. i also use Prince syngut no duraflex, also said to be very soft.

i might have a slight problem with gripping the racquet tight. i probly shouldnt do it as much now because the racquet can plow through it without me needing to help stabilize it.

dont swing too fast? alot of racquet head speed is needed to weild this racquet.

i do hit most balls in the sweetspot also.

i do not use too much wrist. in fact i have it laid back at contact and on the follow through, i let it pronate and let it go.

Take the wieghting off the racquet. Go see a Doctor to check it out and rule out wierd things. When you have wrist pain it is from poor technique - period.

I can make an educated guess that your shots are very loose and wristy. Also, adding weight to the 2 and 10 o'clock areas makes the head of the racquet heavier. Which translates into a heavier swinging racquet. Adding weight at the head when you're not ready for it can hurt your arm and if you are a wristy tennis player - hurt your wrist. The extra weight at the head stresses the arm if you do not have good technique.

For now, you need to rest and let it recover. This also could be coming from your serve.

okay, thanks bill. i really do keep a laid back wrist on my forehand thouhg. it might be my backhand though, i feel like i release it too much instead of keeping it held on the follow through.

anyways, im gonna take all the tape off tomorrow and just hit around for like 30 min. if it feels better, ill add some tape gradually.

btw, when i played with it stock, it was fine. i was a john newcomb's tennis ranch and i was serving bombs, left and right with it stock, but my backhands felt a tad unstable. i guess ill just work on my strokes some more. i need to find a good consistent coach that can help me work on consistency some more and technique.
