The pro equipment log for the 2008 Pacific Life Open is now available on-line at http://www.usrsa.com in the members only section. As with other years, the bulk of the information comes from David Mindell, Casey Maus, and the crew at Star Stringing in Cathedral City. However, this year, we were fortunate to get pro equipment info from off-site stringers Ron Yu (Priority One) and Billy Knight, making this one of the most comprehensive pro logs ever, with information on 307 players, coaches, and even a couple of hitting partners. Thanks to everyone who made this listing possible.

That's a great idea. All we need to do is get everyone who uses this message board to become a USRSA member, and we're good to go.

Checked the site and saw the article that said it was posted but could not find it. I am a member with access. Where is it lurking on the USRSA site?

This is great Greg. Must be over 300 players listed. The most in-depth look I've seen into pro tour stringing.

Maybe this should have been posted on the usrsa forum, since the rest of us mortals without a membership will never be able to read the article :-?

Does that list give the actual racquet, or the paint job? I saw one of those lists in the magazine a year or so ago and it just listed the paint jobs instead of what was underneath them. It was kind of disappointing.

Seeing as how I spent 12 hours behind the wheel getting to and from the event, and 11 hours in front of my computer putting the listing together, I hope you'll understand that my employer is hoping to recoup some of those expenses. This information can be difficult to obtain. If the USRSA hadn't committed to gathering this information, it would essentially be virtually unavailable to all but a small handful of persons. Thanks to the USRSA, this information is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a way via the Internet, to anyone who cares enough about it to validate the efforts of the USRSA with financial support. This financial support will really help in the future when the decision must be made whether or not it is worth paying hundreds of dollars to do it next year, and the year after.

You are so right, Greg. Plus there is so much other value available to USRSA members. I must say that the Pac Open listing is the best one of these I have ever seen. Great job--kudos for all of the hard work. Thanks.

While I am not a member of USRSA, no doubt there are many that appreciate your hard work on all this, Greg. :)

I think Fee asks a very fair question.

I can't imagine that the stringers know the exact racquet model under the various paintjobs. The site is more about the strings.

What is wonderful about the link is the comprehensive list of string setups and tensions developed by the actual stringers at the events. Thanks for pointing it out Greg (and thanks for the work that you put in to it!)
