There has been some discussion regarding 2h BH slice vs 1h BH; I typically use 2h BH even for some slices (sometimes letting go of one hand); unfortunately I recently hurt my knee and have been gimpy about bending down to low shots. I've found however that w/ 1h bh slice you can get away w/ not bending down. In this way it is superior, and helps explain why players charging the net may have advantage w/ 1h BH vs 2h: you don't have to be in perfect striking position.
Another tip I've seen that is helping was in this month's issue Tennis Mag. I cannot recall the author to give proper credit, but he talks about cupping/hitting the outside of the tennis ball rather than the inside. He says that it leads to a more aggressive slice and also a more reproducible shot; cutting the inside of the ball involves the wrist leading ahead of the racquet, produces a more tentative sliced shot which has more side spin.
I realized I had been doing the later; my slices typically jumped to the left (my view) after landing. Initially I found it hard to hit dtl but now am hitting good approach shots which are pleasantly turning into winners sometimes! This is my experience; I would be curious to hear what other people's thoughts on this are!
