I've been consciously trying to grip the handle very tightly at contact on forehands and have noticed more power. Previously, if I hit don't hit the ball cleanly I would get topspin without much pace but with a tight grip I can plow through even on mishits. I think its common knowledge that a tight grip on volleys increases power and I think the same applies to forehands. I haven't tried it on the serve yet. I use a POG OS and haven't had any arm pain yet. Because there is less twisting on mishits it may even be easier on the arm. The trick is to keep a loose grip until the moment of contact and then go back to loose.

hmm.. i think i have been getting problems from gripping the racquet very tightly through the whole swing. i should try this method out.

2 days ago, i think i unconciously did what you said and was hitting winners on a few shots.
