Oh kay so here's my game:
BIG forehand, and BIG backhand, some good serves,
okay volleys, and occasionally great approaches.
have some good reflexes, and i have this wierd talent to hit a drop shot so were it just falls on the opposite side of the court.
and that was truthful.
ALL OF THAT, AND NO PATIENCE.
Give me some patterns of play to practice, like ones that will kill my opponent.
I can learn to be patient if i have something to focus on.
Because when i have no specific thing to focus on I become impatient.
So give me some patterns of play which will be good for my game, and will wear down my opponent.
The current one I'm using is the Three to the backhand and one to the forehand.
HAVE ANYMORE?

just run em, if you can change direction well hit it from corner to corner. if you get em used to that you can hit one to there backhand, they'll be frantically running to the middle/forehand and you can crank another one to the backhand. this will not only help win points but exaust your opponent

Forget the pattern. You'll become too predictable. Each opponent will have different strengths and weakness, so figure those out, and because you have a big forehand and backhand, just pound him into submission.

Work on your serve though so you'll have another powerful weapon. Nothing like a strong serve forcing a weak return and then blistering a shot in the open court.

I, like you, had very little patience, but I used it to my advantage. I wanted to completely destroy my opponent in as little time as possible, so I looked for any weaknesses I could exploit.

Your name is baseline thrasher. Forget the pattern. Just thrash his ass.

Look up Wardlaw's directionals and buy the book if you can.

This is all very true.
But my coach is trying to make me into a consistent player when I am clearly an agressive 1-2 punch kind of guy.
He wants me to use spin and only try to hit it "hard" once in a point.
But you konw what?
I think I should use some patterns of play but keep it short, and knock the crap out of the ball, with spin but with alot of power also.
I have a really good backhand and make really dangerous angles to my opponents backhand side, so once I open up the court with that shot, I can pound a spinning drive shot to the open court.
Basically this is doing what my coach said with a little variation. I think this will be a better choice.
Using the pattern but being agressive with it.
