Nice close-ups David! Not too crazy about the cosmetics though. It looks like they are sticking with the Liquidmetal technology as well as probably all the other previous Radical innovations that have come about over the years. But it does say "Liquidmetal" on the inside of the frame. I'm imaginig that it must say "Radical" near the throat part of the racquet, but it is kinda wierd that there isn't a "Head" or a "Radical" somewhere on the head part of the frame as well as "Flex Point", but oh well. I have a strong feeling that the retail version of this racquet may look different that the one Andre is playing with right now. I actually really liked the Liquidmetal cosmetics a lot. This one seems a little boring. But I am happy there is a little more black for the coloring. Later

I think one of the possible reasons for the switch in the look of the Radical, and this probably sounds a little conspiratorial, is the fact that many people were able to detect that Agassi's racquet wasn't a real Liquidmetal because, well for one key reason, it did not have the Liquidmetal ridges, instead it had a dark gray paint that from far away was supposed to give the illusion of ridges. By removing the gray Liquidmetal paintscheme from the edges of the frame and substituting it for a ridgeless, black Flex-Point scheme, Head's designers try to remain ahead of the curve against those educated about paintjobs. However, the attempt has obviously failed to work. What the heck could Flex-Point technology be anyway? I've heard that most Radicals are pretty flexible to begin with.

Isn't the flex point thing something to do with Rossignol Ski's - Head own the Rossignol brand I believe - maybe somebody with Ski experience could advise. My ski experience sadly amounts to little more than falling on my arse!

Well i held the new flex point radical yesturday at the Head stand while at the Australian Open and id have to say im very impressed. The Ferrero model of the racquet (which he is apparently using) has a larger head and more open string pattern as well as being a tad lighter - basically a head version of the POG with a 102 square inch head. I asked the head rep there and he said the racquets will be hitting the market some time around May in Australia so im not too sure what that translates to in the American market.

The Liquidmetal version, and I am imagining that the Flex Point will as well, already has the twin tube technology built into the racquets. From what I have heard is that everytime there is some new kind of technology put into the newest Radical, they continue to keep what was last put into the racquet. For instance, the newest technology is this "Flex Point" thing, but still with the Liquidmetal, Intelligence, Titanium, Twin Tube, so on and so worth. Gotta stick with what works. Later
