I have been contemplating switching to a 2HBH to up my consistency, though the first time trying it i noticed elbow pain on my right arm (i'm right handed) afterward
i think its due to the follow through movement which im not used to, though i cant say.
Can this tend to happen with a 2HBH comg from a 1H.. or is it a technique issue?

Got to completely relax that right arm. I can't give you advice on anything else because I can not see your motion.

Agreed, my guess is that your BH is to crowded. Thus tensing your right arm in the elbow. I get this when i play in tournaments because i dont give myself enough room to hit the ball

when swinging in practice, try holding using only the thumb and index finger of the right to get a feel of the left hand to power the ball and the right to guide.
