Hi,
I have a question .. everytime that I hit the ball with topspin it barely goes over the net what can i do? Could it be that the racquet is not powerful enough?? i play with a head liquidmetal 4

another question is it possible that the over grip makes the racquet less powerful?

It's not the racket / grip. Without seeing your swing, I'd have to guess you are brushing up too much and not hitting through the ball enough. Try adjusting your swing path so that you swing through as well as up. Make sure your strings are flat on the back of the ball -- parallel to / facing the net -- at contact.

Excellent WilH and maybe her racket face is slightly too closed as well.

That stick is plenty powerful and the over grip doesn't hurt.

It isn't the racquet. It isn't the overgrip.

The way you are swinging to the ball has all to do with it. My comments will be isolated to the swing path.

The swing path is too steep. You should try to raise the arm naturally (which is something like a 30 degree angle) to the ball. This will put topspin on the ball.

For now, just work on hitting the ball with no emphasis on topspin. Swing low to high and come up at the ball from about a foot below the ball. Dont add anything else. Then come tell us the results.

Extension,

You can hit on as steep an angle as you like, as long as you extend your arm through the line of the shot.Try to imagine you're hitting through 4 balls, (while still applying the same amount of topspin). That should fix it, if it doesn't be sure to let me know.

Yes, that is true. Extension is critical in this case.
