How much weight does 4 strips of 1 inch lead tape (1/4 inch tape) at 10 and 2 add to the racket and what other specs does it alter?

that depends on a lot of other factors, origonal weight, balance weight and swingweight, idealy i would put it on a rdc before and after

Well I traded for a Microgel Prestige MP, and it came with lead tape there. So, those are the original specifications, I dont know if I have access to an RDC machine until the fall, I am not sure if I want to keep the lead tape on or not.

How long are the strips? I believe an inch of 1/4" lead tape is 0.25 grams.

Re-reading your post... you're placing (4) 1" strips of 1/4" lead tape at 10 and 2? 4" of lead tape at 0.25 grams/inch = 1 gram (total).

It's more practical to use 4" strips... that way, each strip will be 1 gram... or 4 grams total (if using 4 strips) which may make a slight difference in swingweight. I like (8 total) 4" strips at 3 and 9, myself.

so the lead tape really isnt doing anything at all and i should take it off...if it only added 1 gram

It's increasing your swing weight and reducing your HL balance... as well as increasing your static weight. Other advantage is that by placing at 10/2 or 9/3 you help reduce torsional rotation a little (stability). The 'How Much' for all of these is determined by amount and location of lead you add.
