Fed has now tried everything. Its painfully obvious that his one hander with that tiny little stick is too weak to deal with Nadals high bouncing lefty spin.

Two hands would gove him the power to deal with Nadal or maybe a bigger racquet...whatever...he needs more power.

More importantly, a pro can't just switch a new racquet for one tournament. They establish and develop their game with one racquet to fit their style. It's not the racquet, and it's not Federer's style and technique on clay. Clearly Federer is still #2 on clay having lost only to Stepanek and Nadal this season, and only Nadal last season. Nadal is just tremendously dominant on clay. That's all.

He got to #1 and being considered a potential GOAT with the one-hander...he obviously sticks with it, and just accepts that Nadal on clay is better than he is...can't teach an old dog new tricks...

Maybe he needs to switch to that prince racquet that's illegal that the OP claimed was going to be the new innovation in tennis.

There's already many other threads EXACTLY like this, why start another one? Sheesh.

Pete Sampras disagrees.

He has said that he wished he had changed to a larger head racquet for the FO.
