The beam width on that thing is reminiscent of a Prince Thuderstick 90/110.

^ That's proof positive that marketing BS has gotten totally out of control.

These types of racquet, at these types of prices, should be named the Wilson, Head, etc. 'I've Got More Money Than Brains Special'.

How is it all these light crappy racquets are sellings for almost twice the price of player sticks?

YULitle

I really don't understand what the issue is. All of their 10's have been around this price upon release since I've been in the business. It's their game improvement racquet. Wilson and Prince sell there comparable racquets for about the same price, sometimes more.

My A Storm cost 200, and that's a player's stick. O.o?!

Something to look forward to as I deteriorate. Guess I'll add a few beans to the 401K to cover the cost :-)

seriously the crossbow stick is twice the price of a AG100! and you do not need 440m of string for it!

Pro Kennex:

kinetic energy....the racket can now swing for you? great!

ProKennex Ionic Technology.... more like ironic technology because all the technology is in the marketing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wilson:

Rollers.. ..( what a bunch of b.s. that was! so was the rest of the 70s)

Ncode ...(the N stands for nothing)

Nfoam;.....a new form of contraceptive

Ngrommets......That is not a nice word to call black people!

K factor...... aka...the Kmart factor, the "you can feel it (K)oming" slogan WTF wilson, (K)arbon? more like marketing (K)rap

(K)ompact Center......if your old stick is not (K)ompact enough in the center...

(K)arophite Black...... graphite? black? explain to me this exotic property that is graphite please wilson

Triad......Named after Wilson suckers...they will "try" anything!

Isozorb....should be called .."I so cannot believe how stupid you suckers are"

Hyper Carbon.....(as opposed to the new "gray carbon" or super (k)arbon)

Hammer technology.....should be called screw technology because that's what wilson is doing to you

Slingshot yoke......shoots eggs at your opponents???Thats asking for a default.

Isogrid....yah...I so am laughing that you would fall for this crap

Nzone...very similar to the twilight zone, Its an alternate dimension whereon tennis players believe any crap that Wilson puts out.

You guys should stop complaing if your never going to buy the stick.

But it's so much more FUN to absolutely ridicule the tennis companies' riduclous attempts at "advancing the pace of technology". It's no surprise the POG is still one of prince's best sellers.

LafayetteHitter

Think of the advantages of these big sticks. Here in Louisiana you can use it to kill the bugs flying over your head on the tennis court as well.

Is it just me or does the crossbow 10 look like a giant racquetball racquet?

adlis, that was the funniest crap I have read in a while, good stuff

We should start a thread about the worst racquet technology's ever.

It's commenting not complaining. If we bought the stick (or wanted one) then started this thread it would be complaining.

The PK is different... I'm not sure if the technology works... but when it's shaken, you can hear the 'micro bearings' (i.e. sand) in the head. Very strange...

How much power would a 124 sq inch crossbow strung with VS 17g at 52lbs have? I bet I could hit a home run with a tennis ball using that missile. Holly crap, I just noticed it has a 16 X 19 pattern too!!!!

i agree with the above post about prokennex. I don't like the ionic rainstick thing but at least it's an actual technology that is something new to try, it's not like wilson patenting a new cheesy name for the same crap and charging an extra 200 bucks for it. but hey if people want to pay that then nobody is holding a gun to their head. if it makes them think they are playing better then everybody wins. i want no part of it though.

On the other hand, the Crossbow 6 is quite good, though I admit it looks like a joke and the "technology" involved is about 90% hype.
The price is a turn off though. I am sticking with my Maxply McEnroes.

Sifting through all the BS, is it arm friendly or not? Many will pay big $$$ for a lightweight powerful racquet that doesn't kill your arm.

Why is this shocking?

Beginner's racquets or "Granny sticks" have always cost more than player's racquets. Here are a few more examples:

Hey, bigger cars and bigger houses cost more so why shouldn't bigger racquets? ;) LOL

Yeah. I noticed that. My firend broke his head Microgel. You could actually see these tiny little balls. Someimtes, they aren't just "marketing crap"

Tis for little kids who think that the more expensive the racquet, the better.

Or those who just want an extremely high powered racquet, featuring the almighty Crossbow technology.

Who can go wrong with Crossbow.?

I would think kids put more stock in what is popular over what is more expensive. I find adults put more stock into the pricier the frame the better the frame is, at least to an extent or price.
