In the bottom of the throat (where the throat comes together and meets the grip), I just added 5 grams (x2= 10 grams total)

In the hoop, I also added 5 grams (x2= 10 grams total) at around 3:30/8:30. (The weight sits a little lower down then exactly at 3 and 9 oclock).

So a total of 20 grams.

What happened? Pure magic!

I'm hitting this huge, heavy ball with insane amounts of topspin.

The weight in the throat doesn't affect the balance very much but gives me noticable heft.

I had to tweak my stroke SLIGHTLY. It only took 5 minutes.

I played a whole DOUBLES tournament and I managed to peg 3 opponents.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one CON:

1) my serve suffered big time. I had to toss lower and get my body moving faster so I could get the racquet to come around. It totally threw off my timing. Not sure how I'm going to remedy this. I had to hit slices all day.

Honestly, I dunno. i've used the pro tour 280 when i was a junior. So i'm used to a "head" feel.

but i do love how manueverable it is, the "pop" that it gives (moreso I thinks from the 18x20 stringbed) and how I can drive my flat two handed backhand accurately.

Of course, this isn't to say other racquet manufacturers won't give you the same thing. It just feels right in my hands.

Now it feels even better with the perfect lead combo placements.

on a scale of 1-10 could you rate:

groundstrokes, serve, volley, and overall.

thanks

I've added various weights to mine and the best setup ive found is just to add another overgrip.

Stock with 2 tournagrips untrimmed adds some heft to the racket,
it gets balanced nicely for my thbh and increases the spin.

Serves have more consistency but flat serves do suffer marginally. Increased spin on kick and slice serves.

wow, this is gonna be a little subjective, but here we go

groundstrokes = 10
(this is where this stick shines)

volleys= 9
(its manuevarable and quick. Not as stable as heavier sticks)

serves= 7
(I've always had trouble getting that pop and extra kick from this stick)

overall= 10
(i told you this was gonna be biased. I think most players are very brand specific because each brand has their nuances. Doesn't mean one is better than the other though)

2 tournagrips? i dont know how much that may weigh but it seems like such a small amount..

its an addition of about 5 grams. It changes the balance a bit also

so 2x tourna= 10 grams of weight added on the handle

Go you tell me what string and tension you are using in
your Prestige?

I have been experimenting and have yet to find a great combination.

thanks

i new on this thread, but i have a microgel prestige mp, and loved it, i have tried many different type of string, but like the setup the best. control, spin, power, everything a string can give you.

Luxliton Big Banger ACE 18g main @ 59hybrid with Gamma TNT Spin 17g cross @ 58lbs

hope that give you an idea what string you use on your prestige mp

The one thing i recommend though is once you add lead to the stick, it becomes extremely powerful.

I also hit flat shots so I have consistancy issues sometimes but I think with the luxilons, they've solved that for the time being.

I replaced the stock grip with Babolat leather and 1 overgrip. Additionally, I added 5 inch strips of lead at 3 and 9 o'clock. I also tried lead in the throat, which was nice too, but the lead at 3 and 9 seemed to be a better fit for me. Very nice sticks.
