It depends. I'm 5'8" also and can kick it over someone's head if I want, but I'll lose some pace if I do that. I recommend developing several "kick serve" options... one w/more kick to it, another with more pace, etc. That way you can rotate between them depending on where you're hitting the ball and how well your opponent plays each particular variation.

kick serve should be hit wif 80 percent of ur full strength. height of the ball is not so important, the important part is "HOW" you hit the serve.
