Are the Williams sisters using actual KBlades or is it a paintjob?

Theirs are customized but yeah, they're KBlades. Their last racquets (nCodes) didn't look anything like their current frames.

I thought they were using hyper hammer models?

That was before the start of 2007.

Starting 2007, Wilson gave them both blacked out racquets. The current ones are KBlade Teams but are customized.

Weight is added and the balance is changed.

At the Aussie Open this year I got a good look at Venus' kBlade as it was being strung and the structure of the frame is exactly the same as the stock kBlade Team down to each powerhole. Of course the weight was probably custom. It was being struck at 64lbs with gut (not sure of the brand).

I think the Ltd. edition gold racquet last year was to help the change from the Ncode series to the Kfactor series. They were using head heavy stiff frames and now they are using flexy smaller headed head light racquets. The 2007 racquet the ltd. gold edition was like 57 flex at 11.4 oz. The only different is the string pattern and weight and blance. The racquet it self looks customized. 27.3inches, 4.2 pts head light, 57 flex, 18/19 string pattern? does are pretty darn uncommon specs on kblades

They actually used Ncodes by the way. The N3 and N4. Their is no way they could have repainted the H4 to fit the shape and the yoke technology.

Before 2007, i thought the sisters were advertising the Wline racquets, W5 Divine Iris which is basically a N4 with better paintjob, and the W3 Gypsy Rose which was the same as the N3

Kung, very good info, but I am confused since the specs you describe, 27.3 18x19 57 flex are exactly those of kBlade team. 11.4 is heavier, of course, as you mentioned, or am I missing something? Thanks.

the sisters' rackets typically pj's differing from the production/resale models by different specs and the presence of power holes. the current rackets (kblade team) are the same basic frame as sold in the stores vis a vis the kfactor 6.1 tour 90 and Fed's actual racket.

As you can see the the Kfactor Gold's specs is very close to KBlade team.
You can see the the weight has been reduced by .6oz,
the length has been shortened by .2 inches,
The balance has been made heavier by .8 pts.
The Kblade is also a bit more flexible.
The changes between the Team and the Kfactor gold are only subtle changes.
To me it seems like Kfactor Gold was a prototype where the william sisters test it and ask to make subtle changes for the Team.
