I don't get how this model relates to Beijing or the Olympics. Stars and stripes/Shanghai models I get. Maybe I am missing something from this one view? Actually looks rather plain as far as colorways.

The Olympic kit they've done is black and white, so it goes with that.

As ugly as the other special editions were maybe they decided to do some less tacky. The other versions looked less designed for a tennis court and more for a hiphop video.

Here's adidas' 'MAde for Beijing' line.

http://www.shopadidas.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3189144&cp=2019627.2042238&view=all&fpricesort=

Looks white and black is the colorway of the the entire line.

Going by the pic above, it's a very clean and stylish Barricade, and likely the best version Adidas will ever do.
Forget Beijing - they should market it as "The Barricade Classic"

Extra rice with the special Chinky version? Are the insides shaved (jiao jie special)? Total BS. Bu hau la!

No, because that's rubbish.

They should've colored them in cloudy dull gray colors, that would accurately represent the pollution in the area.

This colorway makes no sense. It's almost identical to the black and white barricade V they just came out with. You have to look very close to tell them apart.

they dont hav those lines on the sides. they almost look like b4s

personally i think they look better than the other black/white colorway

HAHA... cry more losers if that makes your look/feel better. adidas sure doesnt know what the name 'Made for Beijing' means for their sales number, and thats why they made the entire line

Poland, as most European countries is much more expensive, so it's about 200USD here.

And believe me it's not a really high price here... Europe is generaly more expensive especially now since the USD is so weak (that is for Americans). But still although USD is weak the taxes and shiping costs make ordering from the USA only a bit cheaper than buying let's say in Poland. If you buy more stuff... some frames, a couple pair of shoes etc. than it get's better.

Poland? Probably lots of sheckles.

Funny but as far I remember only Israel has this currency... :)

Puma make a massive range of sailing stuff, especially, there are loads of different types of sailing shoes by Puma, maybe 10 models or so.

Interesting they are coming out with a 2008 Shanghai model. I thought last years was a one time thing.

furiousYellow - you can do it. Bring out the gold shoes to your local tennis center- you will be the talk of the club :)

The legend continues with the new Adidas Barricade V now in a limited edition colorway commemorating the 2008 Beijing Olympics! Features an eye-catching white pearlized upper and red graphic insole to differentiate this model from other Barricade V's.

How come we don't have the barricades for the shanghai masters yet in the US?

FuriousYellow

^Probably because they'd be competing against themselves. They just introduced some other new colorways in addition to the Olympic addition.

This way, in 3-4 months when you're looking at replacing those shoes they bring the Shanghai Ltd. Edition out.

It covers you in a smog of leather/synthetic while oppressing and suffocating your foot. Looks good on the outside but, underneath, it stinks. All warranty submissions will be addressed by 5 guys dressed in black and wielding billy clubs. Best not to complain, okay?

All in all, very Beijing.

Sure, we can give it to all of those people who were evicted from their land when China started preparing for the Olympics. Must be 1.5-2 million displaced and I'm sure they'd feel right at home in California.

i've been looking for this shoe online, the black and gold shanghai edition, and i've seen two pics of it, one pic like the one on tw, and another pic with the side of the shoe covered in these large chinese characters. does anyone know if the shoe actually comes with these characters on the side? it's a great looking shoe but the large characters would really take away from the aesthetic quality.

if anyone knows and can answer the question please let me know, thanks.
