I've always strung at the same tension for both but see that a lot of people here string at different tensions. What's the point of this?

mains are longer than crosses so it helps to string mains a couple of lbs tigher to get an even stringbed feel?

Because sometimes you hit the mains and not the crosses, or vice versa? :D

With different strings types, you can equalize the "feel" through tension. In hybrid, Players often string the softer gut/multifiliment at a higher tension then the stiffer polyester strings.

i've found a more consistent feeling string job when mains are a few lbs less than the crosses...not the other way around. anyway if u are incline to agree, there is a known method called the JC method that explains this type of stringing.
