Do you prefer to play singles or doubles? Me, I love them both. I used to be a singles stalwart, as I would guess many are, but I have grown to love doubles as a unique game unto itself.

Usually, I'd been concentrating on mostly singles, but this year I got a doubles spot on my HS team, and I'm loving it. Doubles is awesome! (-:

I really am not better at either one I'd say, but I usually prefer to play singles, since it tends to be a little less social than doubles. I have played each on my usta team, and I have fun playing either-it's all tennis!

Congratulations, @wright! You have moved from "semi-pro" to "professional" in the day that I have been here!

You should really get a job, tho. ;-)

I like singles better but do enjoy and learn from doubles play.

Singles is better, more hitting more running around. Doubles you are jsut standing there at the net.,

It's easier to find one partner than 3. Also, I tend to become claustrophobic during doubles, so singles is better.

I prefer the challenge of singles, but I tend to play dubs more often than not.

I prefer singles. I've played alot of team sports and enjoy them but with tennis I prefer to win or lose by how well I play.

Prefer singles, but doubles is good practice for singles/volleys & is more relaxing.

I prefer both!! Singles helps maintain rythym and timing, doubles helps with volleys and returns.

I try to play singles once a week and play doubles once or twice a week.

Both are great but completely unique games. I think I like singles more because you have more control over what happens. In doubles, if you hit a great shot that pulls both players off the court and then your partner nets the next shot, there's nothing you can do.

That's not to say I don't like playing doubles and I always play it in tournaments if they have it.
