This sort of thing (well not this exactly) is why I mostly advocate doing high pulls for people who want to get the explosive benefit of doing the olympic lifts but aren't olympic lifters. No need to clean the weight and definitely not snatch it as in this case.

Well, most guys aren't maxing out their lifts, hopefully. ;)
This poor guy's career may well be over. A dislocated elbow, and whatever else he now has can end your career and leave you with a dysfunctional arm.

This type of thing is incredibly rare in weightlifting. The sport of weightlifting has a far lower injury rate than most sports. The injury rate for weightlifting has been shown to be 0.0017 per 100 hours, which is lower than basketball (0.3), track and field (0.57), football (0.10) and gymnastics (0.044).

So this, while sad, is not the norm for the sport. No one who trains for tennis using these lifts will EVER lift enough weight to compromise the elbow joint. Never.
