It is challenge matches in a ladder. Any advice how to win? My backhand can be good but its about 30% chance of landing in the other side. Most other strokes are OK but my serve is not the best

if you are not sure of your backhand, then just slice the ball. In the first semester of high school i hit alot of backhand slice, but now i can trust my flat/topspin backhand.

If 1-hander is that weak, then just go to 2-hander backhand. i started out by using 1-hander but had too much trouble so i went to 2-hands and in 1 year, it became my best shot. Even better than my forehand and my forehand was always been a weapon. :)

if you do this remember to wear shoes that aren't sneaky, one of the only things that give me away cause my opponents concentrate on the ball so much lol.

there's not much to say now that it's only a day away. just try your hardest. afterwards, take a stroll to the tips/instruction section with a video of yourself and the help will come.

remember to stay consistent and don't go for too many big shots in order to impress the coach. "its better to win ugly than to lose pretty" -Brad Gilbert

Not sure if you are a all courter but if you are being picked on to the backhand side, try to keep the slice backhand DEEP, and come in on the short balls. You have to at least keep the backhand DEEP otherwise you will see lots of balls going by you.

when i try to hit a normal slice, it doesnt even cross the net
i've tried reading instructions and using them, but my slice wont even be a drop shot

just put the ball back in play and wait for an opportunity to end points with whatever weapon you have. if you dont have any then just keep putting it in play and wait for errors. dont worry if you lose, there will always be someone better than you.

Defintely be as consistent as you can be. Make the opponent beat you, not you beat yourself.

If you have a weak serve and only get your backhand across 30% of the time, you have little chance of beating a player like the one you mentioned.

But best of luck.

If you want it enough and can out-think your opponent, there's no reason you can't beat a player who has better racquet skills... to a certain point.

For the backhand, just punch the balls back if you don't trust it enough for a full swing.

Or you can always be a junkballer and use a lot of crazy spins to make the ball harder to follow...and maybe toss an underhand serve when you see them standing way behind the baseline.

If you make the JV team you can be.

You've got an entire year to work on your game & your fitness. If you really dedicate yourself, then you might make the team.
