I usually prefer non-fiction. Some recent books that I've read and enjoyed are
Into the Wild, Into Thin Air, Affluenza and Getting Loaded so I like adventure and personal finance/real estate books. Any recommendations?

"The death of a president", "Common Ground", and "The powerbroker" are three non-fiction classics that come to mind.

Outdoor/Adventure - The Last Season, Jaguars Ripped My Flesh

Misc. - How to be Alone by Jonathon Franzen (collection of essays)

The Worst Hard Time - story of America in the Dust Bowl era

Blues for Cannibals - misc. stories from a long time reporter, it's excellent.

The Circus Fire - history of the worst circus disaster ever. It's much better than it sounds. It's by Stewart O'Nan who is an award winning writer.
