A frog is stuck at the bottom of a well. He can jump up and grab the well, but slips a little each time.

If he's at the bottom of a 20 feet deep well, and he can jump 3 feet each time, but slips 2 feet, how many jumps will it take to get out?

Actually, whoops, zidane is right. It's 19.

You jump 18 times and you're at the 18 mark. Your next jump gets you out.

However, you can interpret 18 as correct if you say that the frog climbs out once he reaches the top.

Should be 20 right? Unless its a trick question having something to do with a well itself.

Out- 20 jumps

1- 19 jumps

2- 18 jumps

3- 17 jumps

4- 16 jumps

5- 15 jumps

6- 14 jumps

7- 13 jumps

8- 12 jumps

9- 11 jumps

10- 10 jumps

11- 9 jumps

12- 8 jumps

13- 7 jumps

14- 6 jumps

15- 5 jumps

16- 4 jumps

17- 3 jumps

18- 2 jumps

19- 1 jump

Ooops, maybe 19 then since the frog wouldnt slip on the ledge down 2 feet like he would inside the well

Easy its 20. If each time he jumps 3 & slips 2, 3-2=1 so after each jump he only goes up 1 foot.

edit: Dang I forgot ya cant slip if youre already out. Yea its 18
