I am having to run my PC in safe mode and was wondering if there is anyway I can get the sound to work (audio)?
It worked perfectly in normal mode..
Any ideas?

Run it in normal mode. The sound should work fine then.

Running in safe mode means running using the absolute minimum in resources. Only critical components will be active; i would suppose video card, hard disks and processor? Oh, + mouse and keyboard?

So i think having the sound active is impossible, only the network has a special option. Why are you running in safe mode anyway? You shouldn't do that.

Safe Mode is designed to be used only temporarily, to enable you to fix a problem safely, then return to normal mode.
Therefore, there is no use for audio in safe mode.

Agree, if you really have to run in SM, maybe you should reinstall your system...

When I have time I usually find myself a good version ghostXP so I would be able to reinstall everyday if I wanted, haha (not exactly what I do now)
