so I just purchased a flat screen tv and when i watch analog cable there is a horizontal line the goes up the screen over and over, any ideas on how to fix this

Are you sure the cable you're watching is analog? Digital doesn't mean quality or high definition.

Are you using a cable box?

Could be interference from some other nearby electronics. Make sure all your connections are secure, and try turning off anything electronic nearby.

You also may have a bad cable.
