Ano recommended this program for knee injuries and prevention.

Has anyone purchased the manual? Is it a good program?

Thanks

Is there a website for this ? i always found knee injuries to be a tricky problem. while trying to strengthen it, if you work with too much weights, you can actually hurt it some more. and if you do too little, then it isn't effective.

I'd like some info myself.

My knees are slowly tearing apart, bit by bit, as I age. There are many clicks and pops in my knees now that weren't there two years ago. I can feel them slowly degenerating the more I play tennis. :(

Clicks & pops, huh? About 7 or 8 years ago, my left knee would buckle for no apparent reason. It wasn't really painful but it would immobilize me for a second or 2 -- not good if I was running after a ball. It would happen randomly when playing tennis or badminton. It would even happen occasionally while walking.

It turned out to be "joint mice" -- loose bits of cartilage (or bone) would work its way into a part of the knee joint every once in a while that would result in the buckling. The condition went away by itself after a few months. I guess those loose bits found a resting place in the knee where they no longer interfere with my knee movemement.

Pacific3000, where did you see this advice?

I tried a Search on the TW forums but could not find any postings by Ano with regards to Bullet-Proof Knees (or Bulletproof Knees). I found a couple of other links with these titles:

Bullet-Proof Knees (http://www.fitter1.com/About/Articles/bulletproof.aspx)

Bulletproof Knees (http://www.bulletproofknees.com/)

Btw, the only reason I reply your question is because you are nice and knowledgeable, not like some idiot posters who say running is the best way to lose fat, and you don't need to lift weight to lose fat.

Ano! Mucho thanks for the link and the kind words. Good to see that you are still monitoring these threads even tho' you may not be ready to become active again in the Health & Fitness forum . Your presence has been sorely missed -- it's just not the same around here without your expertise.

I'm sure that many people around here would agree. While a few morons or some young (high school?) posters might not appreciate your wealth of experience and the time you have put into many of your posts, I'm sure that most of the crowd around here does.

Altho' I've been around these TW forums for less than 3 years, I've felt it necessary to take an extended hiatus a couple of times simply because I got fed up with some of the attitudes I had encountered. However, even tho' there are a few jerks or some who don't appreciate the research time, the effort, or the expertise that some of us put into posts, there are a great many who do. Hopefully, we'll see a post now & again from you in the future.

Hey, Ano, it's great to have you back! I've read about 1000 of your posts, and you have no idea how much they have helped! Ignore the idiots and keep posting, because so many of us can benefit from the amount of knowledge you have.

Hey guys, I actually have the book. If you're into the scientific details and such, you'll love it. It's super comprehensive.

Idiots do often make absolute statements which are clearly not true.

Sorry for using this thread but I just wanted to say...

Ano it's GREAT you're with us again!

I've always found Ano's advice really helpful although I preferred to keep quiet and just read through his posts as a more knowledgeable user...

Welcome back!
