He's pretty sick, he won junior wimbeldon and got to U18's final of orange bowl at 16.

Well, obviously he must be pretty good... to win Junior Wimbledon. In his blog on the ITF Tennis website, he writes that he practiced in New York with Verdasco and Young. If Verdasco is going to practice with a junior player, then Verdasco knows the kid can play some pro-level tennis.

It's really interesting because just a year ago Krajinovic was playing the ITF grade 5 circuit in the states. Of course he completely dominated, but still.

Who's krajinovic?

Filip Krajinovic is a 15 year old Serb who came to the states last year to train for a couple months at Bollettieri's place. Brad Gilbert indicated he would be a star someday and evidently he spent most of his practices with Haas and other touring pros, not w/ the other kids.

He's currently ranked #26 in the world by the ITF. He's also played some Challenger/Future level events and has a record of 6-7 (not including all the qualifying wins he's had to get into many of the events.).

Saw him play some matches through the Wimbledon streaming site. He beat Ryan Harrison 5 & 3 along the way before losing in the semis to Dimitrov. Very decent player. No real weaknesses, but nothing terribly flashy that stood out as a weapon the way strokes often do w/ touring pros. He seems to be a good grinder, hitting quite deep but not w/ monster pace, although Nick B said he's like a young Agassi (I didn't see it in the matches). BTW, he had to qualify to get into the Wimby jrs.

I think there's a vid of him on youtube

I heard Darren Cahill going on about Dimitrov while he was commentating this summer. He pretty much singled out Dimitrov as an amazing junior.

Was at the Open last week and saw Dimitrov hitting at one of the practice courts outside the Open with Gil Reyes. Talked with Gil a little and he said to remember Grigor's name, he's going to be someone special. He said that Agassi hit some with Dimitrov awhile back and was also impressed...

Hi all,

I found out today from a coach that I know (we are both Bulgarian) he is at the US Open with Dimitrov and I was wondering what specs are on his racquet etc., so I got the info here it is...

-Head Microgel Prestige Mid (93 Head Size)
-L5 4 5/8th grip size, however has put a request in for L6 (for next year)
-42 Pounds Main tension, 40 Pounds Cross tension (thats wicked)
-I didn't ask what type of strings they were, and I also asked if he used a paintjob before and was told yes, however currently it's the original MG Prestige 93.

Britton will play Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in today’s final. The No. 3 seed Dimitrov beat Tsung-Hua Yang, the top seeded player from Taipei who won Wimbledon juniors in July, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
he beat the #1 junior in the world
he must be pretty darn good

He is playing futures at the moment in Spain and is in the Semifinal :) in the QF he beat a guy ranked 470 or so with 6 3 6 2, which is quite good considering his age.

I think Stanoychev was around Top 100 once about 8-10 years ago. If Dimitrov surpasses him, then he might turn out to be the best male tennis player from Bulgaria ever. Based on what others are saying about him... then it will most likely happen in a few years or so.

Won the Futures tourney without dropping a set I believe.

No doubt, Harrison is very, very good. Able to hit 130 Mph serves at 15? Beat a top 100 clay court specialist on clay while serving and volleying? Damn.

But obviously Dimitrov's got game.

I hope both of them develop into the great pros that they have the potential to be and have many a good battle at the top levels of the ATP.
