I am a freshmen, and I was wondering HOW do I get ranked in state, do I have to join a league or something? I am really confused on how I can get started in a tennis career.
(I have played for 3 years (Starting in 4th grade, nothing serious just in my local tennis club, then I would play with friends and my brother for practice), then quit (eigth), and now I am playing again)
I am serious. I really want to know how to get an official ranking in some kind of league.

Play usta tournaments. That is how you get a state, section, and national ranking.

go to usta.com and sign up. They probably have tournys there but I dont know how close theyd be to you because I don't think Wisconsin is a big tennis state

I saw that. Question is, do I have to pay to register in it? I saw some 30 dollar a month thing and I don't have the money to do that. (I am a student, and cannot have a job till next year)

Oh thats better :p
I am just unsure about how I go about this. I'll wait a year, when my serve is better.

What part of Wisconsin do you live in? That would help us tell you how many tournaments are close to you.

Here is a USTA Search Page (http://tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments/Schedule/SearchResults.aspx?typeofsubmit=&Action=2&Keywords=&TournamentID=&SectionDistrict=8568&City=&State=&Zip=&Month=&Day=&Year=2008&Division=&Category=&Surface=&OnlineEntry=&DrawsSheets=&UserTime=Sun+Sep+07+2008) for Wisconsin tournaments. Click on the months on top of the page. See if any of those towns are near you. Keep in mind that there are a lot more tournaments in the summer than there are after school starts back up.
