I know that the USTA only takes your top 8 results for singles. What I thought for doubles is that every doubles event you do, the points count, but only 15% of the total points for doubles.

I heard that it was something different for doubles though.

I'm trying to get my ranking up so I'm going to do doubles whenever possible.

If someone could clear up the doubles situation that would be good. Thanks.

Depends on whether you are talking about national rankings or the rankings for mere mortals like my son. For him, as an example, his Mid-Atlantic ranking includes his top 5 singles and his top 5 doubles results, with the doubles results scaled down to 15% of the listed points.

I'm talking about my section, New England, if that helps

What age group?

Never mind the age group, it does not matter for New England. Some sections limit the tournament count more at younger ages, but in New England it is your top 8 singles results plus 15% of your top 8 doubles results, at least for 12 and under on up through 18 and under.
