I suggest you look into the following new ones:

Wilson's K-Gut
Wilson's K-Gut Pro
Babolat's Xcel 2008
Babolat's Xcel Power
Tecnifibre's TGV

And:

Prince's Premier with Softflex
Laserfibre's SuperNatural XRC Phenom

And:

Babolat's old standby, Fibertour (available only in 16 gauge by now).

I prefer Tecnifibre's multifeel right now, but I'm going to try out babolat's Xcel Premium 2008 on my next stringjob.

Yonex Tour Super 850.

I second this. It's well priced and I enjoyed the fact that it did not show any fraying prior to snapping.

If only it held tension a little better...oh well can't complain

Alpha and Yonex just love that 16 gauge, don't they? That in itself sort of limits who they sell to.

Couldn't agree with you more. My Yonex strings broke last week but they did not show any sign of breaking until the last minute. String movement is also very less. Feel may not be as close as X1 or NRG but its almost close and you can't beat the price.
