I was wondering if takes extreme top spin to break string. To make a long story short, We were tryiing to hit home runs with our tennis balls/racquet but the strings wouldnt break!

the strings were syn gut and already pretty much dead with lost tension that we were going to replace anyway.

so its a lot easier to break strings with top spin than flat bombs into left field right?

a $25 string made by Gamma should break for you in about 5 minutes. Give it a try.

hey it's simple, string will break because of friction, and there is much higher friction in topspin shot than flat... because you brush the ball.

Yep, I have a friend who hit's the ball tons harder than I do and really flat but I hit with a lot of topspin. My strings break after only a couple of uses while hers will last 3 or 4 times longer adn we use the exact same string.

Nail clippers or scissors are usually what a man chooses.

i would say, the final match deciding first and second place, with a lead of 3-1, a forehand on fire that day, and no extra racquet...

yeah, thats probably the way to break strings.
