View Full Version : best brand of finishing tape?

A few years ago I bought a roll of 1/2-inch-wide finishing tape from ATS, but it is terrible. I press it hard onto the grip when cut and still the leather grips manage to start unraveling. Plaing in sunny weather, it makes the adhesive material completely break down. Wilson seems like they use great finishing tape on their rackets--it seems to be 3/8-inch wide, and looks more like strapping tape or something. I saw a roll of Babolat 3/8 finishing tape: is this good? Is the one that TW carries good?

I just use some good ol' electrical tape

I also use electrical tape. Stretch it a little, and it stays flat and tight; but don't stretch it too much.

I'd stay away from electrical tape as it can pull off grip material. Remember to cut the tape diagonally; straight cuts tend to roll back over time.

home depot: plymouth brand electrical tape, made in usa. comes in many colors.
stay away from cheap sh%# made out of the country. It comes undone and shrinks up on youand leaves an adhesive trail where the tape once was. the stuff sucks really bad. makes me want to wrap the tape (like a mummy) around the people who make this sh%#.............!!!!
