I have a babolat Pure Drive Roddick Plus and i put in 84 string savers in the sweetspot in a 7*12 grid. Is that too many? Because on my other Pure Drive i had a 6*12 grid and it felt like there was more power in it even though the tension is like 2lbs higher on the 6*12 grid racket

What's a good number of string savers to use?

Does the stringbed tension increase a lot if you put in a lot of string savers?

HOLY!:shock:84 in one stringbed is a lot. I occasionally use string savers when I use them I zigzag them. I found it firms up stringbed considerably. I use them when I don't play very often in order to keep string in relatively playable condition. Good number to use you will have to try that for yourself but I would think one shouldn't need more than 30-max 40 per one fresh string.

I'm just curious what set up do you use?

so i don't need to put them all together?
I can skip a string then put one in then skip?

definetly. The most I will now do is 30 string savers.

I use 32 now - this is a pic of my Head MG PP with 48 in each. Depending on the string pattern and size of racket, you will need some in the sweetspot and then you can ZIG-ZAG around to cover the most fragile areas - for me 32 works just fine in a 18X20 and 16X20 string bed 98 SQ" size frame. Federer only uses 9 - be he doesn't care about string durability anyways - he just need the racket to last 1 set :D

When I used string savers, I only used 16, and I concentrated them around the sweet spot as such:

ok so i put in 40 string savers in an 8*5 grid
is that good or will the tension be too high still?
